Empowerment: Edo LGA trains over one hundred


As part of it agenda to to liberate constituents from the problem of unemployment, Orhionmwon LGA in partnership with African Oil and Gas Company Ltd (AFOG) and in collaboration with United Bank for Africa has successfully trained and empower over one hundred persons.
The training is inline with the council boss agenda to help the people and make Orhionmwon the of agricultural activities.

Declaring the event open in Benin city the state capital, the council chairman Hon Sylvester Okoro said the training is gear towards enhancing the standard of living of every sons and daughters of the LGA.

He said, the training will spur so many people to go into agric.

According to Okoro who was represented by his vice Christian Iweka, agriculturally, Orhionmwon is very ready to host more companies whether international or multinationals.

"The council boss is keen on making sure that Orhionmwon take it proper position as agrarian council in Nigeria in general and Edo state in particular"
Meanwhile, the program manager of (AFOG) Mr Iyobosa Jones said the training is a capacity building aimed at equipping the participants mentally to prepare them for quality delivery in area of agriculture.

Some of the participants told newsmen that, though they are not expecting cash at the end of the program but described it at worthy program and thanked Hon Okoro who they said has come to change the narrative by given true meaning to governance.

"My name is Lawrence Omorodio from urhehue community, this program is very time, from what we have received so far the program was carefully selected to benefit Orhionmwon indigenes he concluded.
